Leda Maxine Sanders, 91, of Hawesville, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Carmel Home.  She was born on April 5, 1926 in Patesville, KY the daughter of the late Claude and Anna Basham Peyton.  Maxine was a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church and a housewife.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Sanders; siblings, Rex Peyton, James Peyton and Laila Banister.

She is survived by her son, Jerry C. Sanders; a grandson, Michael Sanders; 2 step grandchildren, Timothy Brown and Crystal Bernardi; 9 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with burial following in Serenity Hills.  Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday and after Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
