Eddie G. Powers, 79, of Hawesville, passed away on Monday May 15, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with his family by his side.  He was born in Hancock County on March 4, 1938 the son of the late Gilbert and Edith Jarboe Powers.  Eddie was baptized at Mt. Eden Baptist Church and was a farmer.  He loved working on his farm, making sure the cattle were taken care of and his hay crops brought in.  Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports and playing rook.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shanda McDaniel and a brother Wayne Powers.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Brown Powers; 4 daughters, Melissa G. (Wayne Keith) Pogue, Rhonda McDaniel, Kimberly Powers (Ken) Patterson and Trisha Burden; a son, Terry Powers; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Dubree along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Blackford Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.  Eddies family will be greeting friends on Friday from 9 am until 1:30 pm at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville.
