Yates Roberts, Sr, 80, of Rockport, IN, died suddenly Friday, October 13, 2023 and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Yates was born in Lewisport, KY on October 9, 1943 to the late William H and Sarah Elizabeth Dixon Roberts.  He was a truck driver for forty years.  Yates enjoyed watching the deer, birds and other animals come in to feed behind his house. He enjoyed using his tractor helping others and going to the car auctions in Evansville.  He was preceded in death by a sister Dorretha Sadler.

Survivors include his wife of nineteen years Sheila Roberts; two sons Lee (Kim) Roberts, Jr and Dokken Dodson; a daughter Rima Todd and five grandchildren Jacob, Mitchell, David, Sarah, Melanie and Julie.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday October 16, 2023 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel.  Yates’s family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time Monday at the Funeral Home.  A private family burial will be at a later date.
