Willene Mattingly Obituary

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Willene Mattingly, departed her loving family Dec 13, 2021 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City IN. She was 89 years old.

Predeceased loved ones include: her parents Clarence and Clemmie Abbott, her brother Vernon Abbott, spouses Charles H. Eubanks, Robert ‘Bob” Mattingly and grandson, Josh H.

Helson.

Willene was raised in Florida and in 1949 came to Ky where she eventually raised 3 children, Charlene Eubanks Fabiano, Sherry Mattingly Kluesner and Joe L. Mattingly with the help of her husband Robert “Bob” Mattingly.

She had seven (7) grandchildren: Brian Helson, Heather Helson McGuirk, Josh Helson, Ramsey Helson, Zac Ogle, Lindsey Mattingly Shocklee and Kerri Mattingly Nash who brought great joy, laughter and satisfaction into her life. Eventually her family grew to include twelve (12) great grandchildren and three (3) great great grandchildren.

 

Willene was an active member at the Maceo United Methodist Church where she was a Lay Leader and taught Sunday School for many years. Her knowledge of and faith in the Bible was a source of great strength to her.  Through her deep faith, she taught her family love, kindness, patience. She strived to be ever joyful, hopeful and positive.

She enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting  garage sales when residing in her Florida winter home. Her cooking skills were well known within her family inner circle.

Funeral Services will be a private per family wishes.  She will be laid to rest in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to:  Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.  Share your memories and condolences will her family at www.gibsonandsonfh.com
