Vadene B. (Brandle) Hicks

Vadene B. Hicks, 71, of Hawesville, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the Heartford House under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  She was born in Owensboro on August 18, 1954 to the late William Vada and Florence Brown Brandle.  Vadene was a member of Hawesville Baptist Church and was a bookkeeper at Willamette for several years and also worked at the Hancock County Health Department.  She was a member of the VFW Post 5186 Women’s Auxiliary and was a wonderful housewife.  Vadene enjoyed her husband, Bill’s, music and was his number one fan and going for rides in her husband’s old cars.  Her biggest joy in life was watching her grandchildren grow up.

Vadene is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill Hicks; daughter, Haley Hicks; grandchildren, Zachary and Rosetta Woosley along with several cousins.

A funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Hawesville Baptist Church with burial to follow in Serenity Hills.  Friends may visit with Vadene's family on Thursday from 10 am until 1 pm at the church.
