Thomas Dale Decker

Thomas Dale Decker, 73, of Hawesville, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 peacefully at the Heartford House in Owensboro, KY.  He was born in Hawesville, KY on January 19, 1952 to the late Thomas Edward (Shorty) and Geraldine Lindsey Decker.  Dale was employed by GN Excavating as a truck driver and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed race cars, hunting and fishing.  Dale was preceded in death by his father, Shorty Decker and mother, Geraldine Holder.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Kim (Dennis) Zorn and Jennifer Decker McCain; grandchildren, Justin McCain and Ethan Benson; mother of his children, Joyce McCain; brother, Ralph (Becky) Decker; niece, Nicole Howe; nephews, Ralph “Bub”, Tracy and Josh Decker; great nieces and nephews, Chase, Hannah, Madison, Leeam, Layton, Abi, Hunter, Owen, Danielle, Wyatt and Gage; stepbrother, Gilbert Coon and his 4-legged pal, Juels.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Mt. Eden Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from Noon until 2.  Gibson & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky/Heartford House.
