Shirlene Johnston Wilson, 71, of Lewisport, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro, KY on May 4, 1954 to the late Raymond and Pauline Roberts Johnston. Shirlene was a member of Hawesville United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was an avid U.K. Basketball fan, enjoyed sitting outside and going to the casino. Known for her famous mashed potatoes, she loved cooking for family Sunday suppers and had a sweet tooth. Shirlene loved a good joke and pink fingernails. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry Wilson; sister, Shirley (Gilbert) Potter; brothers, JT Johnston and Arthur Lewis Johnston.
Survivors include her daughters, Amy Stanley and Jamie (Bill) Zambrano; grandchildren, Aaron Stanley, Hunter Stanley, Hannah (Kam) Foellinger, Grace Zambrano, Cheyenne Stanley and Sierra Stanley; a soon to be great-grandson; sister, Geraldine (Glenn) Hubbard; sister-in-law, Robbie Johnston along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with burial following in Henderson Cemetery. Shirlene’s family will be greeting friends on Monday evening from 5 pm until 7 pm and Tuesday from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
