Shannon Renee Smith, 49, of Hawesville, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Heartford House.  She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on August 20, 1976 to Orbie Smith, Sr. and Linda McFarling.  Shannon was of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt and always had a smile on her face.  Shannon is preceded in death by her father, Orbie Smith Sr., grandparents, Joe and Marjorie McFarling, Tom and Agnes Smith and several aunts and uncles.

Shannon is survived by her mother, Linda (Norman) Smitley; brother, Orbie (Jessica) Smith Jr.; step sister, Mary Jane (Brian) Beckort and Rebecca (Hugh) Davis nieces, Autumn Smith and Summer Smith; nephews, Dalton (Brianna) Tyson, Hunter Beckort and Chase Beckort; great nephew, Weston Tyson; aunts, Pam Wittman, Mary Anne Powers, Carolyn Henning and Francis Smith along with numerous cousins and friends; her 4-legged friend, Suga.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Serenity Hills.  Shannon’s family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 am until service time.
