Sandra Gail Hale, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest.  She was born on November 8, 1945 to the late Hugh and Beneta Lamar Hall.  Sandra was an L.P.N. at Owensboro Health for many years and also worked for River Valley Behavioral Health and Dr. Gary Wahl’s office.  She was loved by the nurses and residents at Hillcrest Nursing, keeping them on their toes and making them laugh.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Sheldon Hale and a sister, Janice Jackson.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Kim (Ty) Barnett and their children, McKenzie Barnett and Trent Barnett; step children, Jan Hale, Shelda (Tom Godell) Hale, Patricia Hale and Dan (Tammy) Hale; 13 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; sister, Rita (John) Garner; brother, Billy (Tonja) Hall along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with burial to follow in Lewisport Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 am until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
