Myrvin E. Brown

Myrvin E. Brown, 91, of Hawesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Floral, KY on March 2, 1932 to the late Thomas Joseph and Rhoda Glover Brown.  Myrvin was a member of Blackford Baptist Church, serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years.  He was self-employed as a lifelong farmer and a well driller.  Myrvin spent many a day digging holes for people whether it be a water well in the early years or oil wells and septic systems in the later years.  He enjoyed playing croquet, checkers and rook.  Myrvin also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.  Myrvin spent countless hours watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports and loved every minute of it.

Myrvin was preceded in death by his siblings, Rory Brown in infancy, Hazel Brown, JB Brown, Opal McDaniel and Faye Aud.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Shirley Crowe Brown; two daughters Colita Hope Duncan and Cheryl Stone and a son Richard Brown (Paula Snyder); grandchildren, Vanessa (Wes) Payne, Chris Stone, Jennifer (Jon) Roberts, Heather Duncan, Tom (Lindsey) Duncan and Heath Stone; great grandchildren, Evan Stone, Kelly Ann Stone, Taylor Payne, Keegan Duncan, Stella Roberts, Westyn Stone, Brooklyn Payne, Presley Roberts, Knox Roberts, Maci Duncan and Gavin Duncan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1 pm until 4 pm at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel.  Funeral Service and Graveside Service will be private.  Myrvin will be buried in Blackford Baptist Church Cemetery.
