Michele (Howard) Winchell

Michele Howard Winchell, 53, of Hawesville, passed on to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at University of Louisville Hospital.  She was born on August 7th, 1971 in Murray, KY to Harris and Barbara Buttram Howard.  Michele was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 3 Master Degree’s (Nursing, Nursing Education, and Psych Mental Health Practitioner) from Western Kentucky University. Michele was a Nurse Practitioner and touched countless lives throughout her career. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, meeting new people (never met a stranger) and loved being included on the farm. Education and continuing to learn was very important to her.  Michele was preceded in death by her father, Harris Howard.

Michele is survived by her husband, David Winchell; children, Jonathan Simpson, Jordan Michele Simpson, Jaycee Simpson, Anna Winchell and Shelby Winchell; mother, Barbara Howard; sister, Kelly (Andrew) Kaiser; grandmother, Cora Lee Goodman, along with two nieces and a nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at St. Columba Catholic Church, Lewisport, KY, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, Cloverport, KY.  Michele’s family will be accepting friends at St. Columba Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 19th, from 3 PM until 8 PM, and on Thursday from 9 AM until service time.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
