Michael Roberts Obituary

Michael W. Roberts, 54, of Tell City passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born on August 15, 1964 to the late David and Judith Roberts in Owensboro, KY.  He married Jill Granger on November 11, 2016.  Michael graduated from Tell City High School in 1982.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, David and Judy and a brother Mark Claybron Roberts.

Michael retired as a Lieutenant from the Tennessee Department of Corrections after serving for over 20 years.  He was the 5th Knight, aka Sir Viper Draggoth, of the brotherhood of Dur-Demarion and considered the realm to be an extension of his family.  Michael’s biggest loves were his wife, his children and his grandchildren, Action/Superhero movies, playing the drums, going to band competitions and cheering on his son and grandsons at ballgames.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jill; 3 sons, Tyler (Andrea), Devin (Montana) and Nate; 2 daughters, Kynslee and Angel (Ric); 9 grandchildren, Caleb, Emily, Caydin, Issac, Quinn, Athena, Kellan, Ivey and Raven; brother, Jeff Tate (Katy) along with several nieces and nephew.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with private burial at a later date.  Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
