Mary Russel Poole Hurst, 94 of Hudson, FL, formerly of Lewisport, KY passed away on January 4, 2020 in Roseville, MI. She was born August 18, 1925 in Lewisport, daughter of the late Anna Eliza Roberts Poole. Mary graduated from Lewisport High School in 1944, Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital in 1947 as a Registered Nurse and from Saint Leo University in San Antonio, FL in 1978 with a B.A. in Psychology with honors. She was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corp. and was active in many R.N. positions until retirement in 1989. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hurst, half-brother, Donald Poole and father of her children, William Franklin Banks.

She is survived by a son, Charley (Janice) Banks; daughter, Lynetta Banks Sacherek; grandson, Douglas Banks; granddaughter, Amanda Banks Langston and her husband, Daniel; great grandson Lucas C. Langston; nephew, Donald (Patty) Poole and family; nieces, Sue (Mark) Fairclough and family and Kim (James) Mazzola and family.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am, on Saturday May 2, 2020 at Henderson Family Cemetery in Lewisport. Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport has been entrusted with local arrangements.
