Mary Walker Tongate Obituary
Mary Walker Tongate age 82, died at home in Lewisport, Kentucky.
Mary was born February 10, 1943 in Daviess Co. to G. F. and Lyndal R. Tongate.
She graduated from Daviess Co. High School attended Brescia and Ky. Wesleyan Colleges and became a self-employed tax preparer.
Her sense of humor and love of laughter made her a perfect audience for storytellers. She was member of the Red Hat Society sharing fellowship and recipes. One great-nephew said Mary made the “best fruit salad”.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Donald, Larry Dale and David.
She is survived by a brother, Robert (Reanah) and several nieces and nephews, Julie Martin (Donnie), Lori Hodskins (Gary Bloyd), Angela Anderson, Nathan Tongate, Kim Hibbard, Keith Tongate, Elizabeth McFarland (Scott) and Sara Fort (Luke VerKamp).
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Gibson & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with care..
