Mary Martha (Reed) Covetts

Mary Martha (Reed) Covetts, 81, of Cannelton, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Perry County on May 19, 1940 to the late Oscar and Evelyna Carter Reed.  Mary retired as an RN from Golden Living Center.  She enjoyed woodworking, gardening and caring for others.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Covetts; a son, David Covetts; siblings, Albert Reed, Lee Reed, Joyce Reed, Dorothy Champion and David Reed.

Survivors include her daughters, Josette Ball and JoAnn Ball; grandchildren, Julie Harris, Billie Gogel, Amanda Evans and Jacob Ball; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

As per Mary’s wishes, no services will be held and cremation will take place.  Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel has been entrusted with care.
