Mary Agnes Bruce

Mary Agnes Bruce of Lewisport passed away on June 13th, 2018. She was born February 28th, 1932, to the late Hosea Bruce and Tiny Carter Bruce in Muhlenberg County.

She was a member of the Christian Scientist Church in Boston.  In 1968, she moved to Boston Massachusetts to begin her career for the Christian Science Publishing Company.  She worked for the publishing society until 1997, and then proceeded to work part time at the Boston Public Library until 2002. After retiring, she moved to Lewisport, Kentucky when she furthered her education and became a master gardener.  She loved traveling, reading, gardening, and going to the senior citizens and playing games.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives; Thomas and Wanda Bruce of Evansville, Pascal and Virginia Bruce of Booneville and Edgar and Mary Alice Bruce of Owensboro, and one sister and her husband Charles and Dorothy Collins of Booneville, and a brother in law Jack Voyles of Lewisport.

She is survived by one sister, Retha “Dean” Voyles of Lewisport and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June, 16, 2018 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport with private inurnment at a later date.  Visitation will be held from 1 pm until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
