Loretta Embry

Loretta M. Embry, 78, of Cloverport, passed away on July 19, 2026 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky at the Heartford House.  She was born in Locust Hill, Ky on March 5, 1948 to the late Estel Gilbert and Barbara Jean Harper Simmons.  Loretta operated several restaurants and was a waitress for several years.  She retired as a security guard at Domtar, where she made lifelong friends.  Loretta loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren, who she would take camping when they were young.  She also enjoyed her time with Sassy, her beloved 4-legged friend.  Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Embry; son, Darrel Shane Bickett; Brothers, Jody Simmons and Buck Simmons.
Loretta is survived by her son, Joseph Keith “Diddle” (Charity) Bickett; grandchildren, Triston (Sydney), Devin (Brooklynn), Dustin (Izzy) and Mariah (Noah); Michael Brook, Bradley, Garrett, Landon, Aiden, Kanin, Sunny, Stormee and Tatum.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1 pm until 6 pm at Cloverport Baptist Church.  Gibson & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.  Sharee your memories and condolences with her family at www.gibsonandsonfh.com.
