Lonnie R. Schwindel

Lonnie R. Schwindel, 61, of Lewisport, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Evansville, IN. He was born on September 22, 1957 in Huntingburg, IN to the late Gilbert and Carol Schwindel. Lonnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the 300th MP Company serving in Stuttgart, Germany. He was also honored to serve as military guard for Fort Knox for 1 year, followed by 19 years with the Owensboro Police Department. Lonnie enjoyed golf, spending time with his friends and family, his cat Sam, and University of Louisville sports. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Schwindel; and his mother, Carol Schwindel. 

He is survived by: his son Jacob (Christina) Schwindel, two grandsons Austin and Luke; two brothers Kelvin (Mary Jo) and Jake Schwindel; one niece Leslie Schwindel; one nephew Michael (Meredith) Schwindel and a great-nephew Boone.

Funeral services for Lonnie R. Schwindel will be held at 11 am CST, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport with burial to follow in Serenity Hills.  Friends may call for visitation at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Lewisport from 4 pm until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 and Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 9 am until service time.
