Lafayette William “L.W.” Long, 101, of Collierville, TN, formerly of Hawesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.  He was born in Lewisport on June 8, 1923 to the late Harmon and Cynthia Bozarth Long.  L.W. was a member of Hilldale Methodist Church, was retired from RCA and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Long; siblings, Katherine Hayden, Hortense Aull, Juanita Nutt and Harmon “Jr.” Long.

L.W. is survived by his children, Martha (Gary) Deckard, Cynthia Long, Janice (Ken) Myrick, Rebecca (Mike) Peterson, Thomas Long, David (Patty) Long and Barbara Long; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Hilldale Methodist Church with burial following in Serenity Hills with full military honors.  LW’s family will be greeting friends from 9 am until service time at Saturday at the church.
