Johnny W. Roberts, Sr., 74, of Lewisport, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Hancock County, he was born on August 31, 1951 to the late Harry Dean and Betty Richardson Roberts, Jr. Johnny was a lifelong farmer and retired from Commonwealth Aluminum after 35 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was trapping, hunting, fishing, gardening or just driving around the farm. Johnny loved to cook and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved travelling to the beach, most likely to the Gulf Shores, Alabama area.
Along with his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Allie Roberts and Baby Roberts; brothers, Harry Dean Roberts III and Dennis Roberts; son, Jason Deck; sister-in-law, Shelia Dixon.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sherry Bozarth Roberts; daughter, Scarlett (Gibby) Gibson; sons, Johnny “Chic” (Christy) Roberts, Jarred Roberts, Jonathan “Boop” (Sierra) Roberts and Kyle (Ashtyn) Deck; grandchildren, Lara, Lexie, Cayden, Taylor, Kaden, Jaylon, Jayce, Kinley, Jack, Kollins, Reid and Asher; sister, Rosemary; nephews, Mike, Sean and Craig; mother and father in law, Carlos and Mary Edith Newton; brother in Law, Mike (Danita) Bozarth; sister in law’s, Kristi (Joey) Gogel and Pat Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with burial following in Roberts Cemetery. Johnny’s family will be greeting friends on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 3 pm until 7 pm and on Friday from 9 am until 11 am at the funeral home
