John J. Stillwell

John J. Stillwell, 73, of Cloverport, passed away on November 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Stephensport, KY on December 19, 1950 to the late Herbert and Jessie Laslie Stillwell.  John was a farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on lawnmowers and spending time with his family.  John was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jones and a brother, Charles Poole.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bertha Stillwell; daughters, Ailisa (Scott) Glover and Tammy (Daryl) Taylor; son, Charlie (Donna) Smiley; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary (Lee) Gibbs; brother, Herbie Stillwell along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Noon on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel.  Burial will be held at McQuady Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 4 pm until 7 pm and on Monday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
