John H. Adkins

John H. Adkins, 91, of Reynolds Station, passed away on January 5, 2022 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born in Hancock County on September 17, 1930 to the late Willie and Elmina Corley Adkins.  John was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.  John was a mechanic for over 60 years and owned and operated J & L Auto Service from 1974 until he retired in 2012.  Aside from his love of cars, John enjoyed fishing.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Adkins; daughter, Vicki Orzehoski; siblings, David Adkins, Mary Ellen Rice and Shirley Isom.

John is survived by his daughter, Denise Potts and her husband, Clifford; a grandson, John Potts along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
