Gloria Brown White, 80, of Hawesville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home. She was born in Hawesville on December 2, 1944 to the late Casper and Audrey Arington Brown. Gloria was a member of Blackford Baptist Church and was a retired School Bus Driver for Hancock County Board of Education. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to ball games, baking cakes, quilting, and eating orange Jello with bananas. Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Matt White; sister, Shirley Wilhite; brother, Bobby Brown; longtime companion, Jay Craig.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Harold) Hagman and Stacy (Darin) Brown; grandchildren, Aaron (Lacey) Hagman, Derrick Hagman, Jade (Ryan) Hamilton, Lindsey Hagman, Colton White, Kelsey Brown, Luke Brown and Hanson White; great grandchildren, Keaton, Gunner and Clara Lynn; brothers, Rick (Trina) Brown and Steve (Marla) Brown; father of her children, Joe White; a niece that Jay and Gloria helped raise, Raina Humphrey; nephew that called her Nanny, Drew Brown along with several other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Blackford Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Gloria’s family will be greeting friends on Friday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel from 3 pm until 7 pm and on Saturday at the church from 9 am until 11 am.
