Gary Wayne Harper, Sr. Obituary

Gary Wayne Harper, Sr., 71, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025.  He was born in Somerset, KY on February 2, 1954 to the late Charlie and Marie Eaton Harper.  Gary was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was a welder with Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 633.  He enjoyed drag racing, tinkering in his shop and motorcycles.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Marie Harper; a great grandbaby; sisters, Patricia Horn, Janet Harper and Donna Gale Harper; several half-brothers and half-sisters; his four-legged pal, Scooter.


Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Sue Harper; daughter, Tabitha (Chris) Harper Blake; son, Gary Wayne (Jenifer Bailey) Harper, Jr.; grandsons, Devyn Komasinski and Cambren Harper; granddaughter, Alexis (Ashton) Perrone; a great grandbaby on the way; siblings, Karen Brown, Dorothy Sayers, Charlie (Karen) Harper and Bubbles Samples along with several nieces and nephews; his four-legged friends, CJ, Rodie, Keisha and Koda. 


As per Gary’s wishes, no services will be held and cremation will take place.  Gibson & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.
