Ethel M. (Lent) Rice

Ethel M Rice, 78, of Hawesville, KY passed on to her Heavenly home on July 8, 2026 at the Heartford House.  Ethel was born on April 18, 1948 in Columbus, OH to the late Ralph and Ona Francis Sparks.  Ethel worked for the City of Columbus for 29 years and then went on to be an Accounts Payables and Receivables Supervisor.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Rice; three daughters, Ona (Michael) Valk, Patricia Rice and Crystal Young; a son, Jeffrey Rice; sister Teresa Sparks; sister-in-law, Donna (Wade) Little and five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services are at 2:00 pm Friday July 24, 2026 at Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Mt Eden Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on July 24 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for Ethel’s family at www.gibsonandsonfh.com.
