Edward Goins

Edward Goins, 89, of Lewisport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  He was born in Williamson Co., TN on October 14, 1934 to the Everett and Helen Decker Gootee.  Ed was a member of Central Baptist Church, retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  Ed enjoyed NASCAR, camping and driving fast.  He was active with Central Baptist Church Operation Inasmuch and also helped with building decks and ramps for people in need.  Ed was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Nash and a grandson, Mathew Nash; his 4-legged companion for many years, Smitty.

Ed is survived by his wife of 19 years, Frances Kelly Goins; daughters, Deborah Leigh (Michael) Kieser and Alice Fallin; son, Robert Darrell Nash; grandchildren, Shea, Jessica, Garrett, James A., Leah, David, Bianca, Andrew and Logan; 15 greatgrandchildren; special cousin, Kandi Kaye Brown.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Central Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11 am until service time.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
