Danial "Danny" D. Cartwright

Danial “Danny” Dale Cartwright, 73, of Hawesville, passed away on April 21, 2021 in Henderson, KY under the care of Saint Anthony’s Hospice Care.  He was born in Reynolds Station, KY on November 5, 1947 to the late James and Gladys Huff Cartwright.  Danny was of the Baptist faith and a retired Boilermaker.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  During his time in the Army, he was awarded with 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.  Danny was involved in the Wounded Warriors Project and was a member of the Moose Lodge.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Carl Cartwright.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Shelly (Ray) Sawyer and Jill Cartwright; grandchildren, Britney Cartwright, Deven Sawyer, Shawn Sawyer; great grandchildren, Bailynn McMillian and Brody Schilli; sisters, Shirley Smith and Connie Sanders along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at Noon on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Hawesville.  Danny’s family will be greeting friends on Monday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
