Billy J. Baize, Sr., 79, of Whitesville, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born in Horse Branch, KY on December 9, 1944 to the late Cleave and Sadie Allison Baize.  Billy was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Yager Materials.  He enjoyed fishing, cowboy movies, grocery shopping and talking on the phone.  Billy loved doing yard work with his Dixie Chopper lawn mower.  He was preceded in death by his step son, Steven Brad Emerson; siblings, Charles Baize and Nellie Burden.

Billy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura Scifres Baize; daughter, Tina Baize; son Billy Baize, JR.; step daughters, Judy Williams and Sharon Williams; several grandchildren; sister, Sadie “Cindy” Craft along several nieces and nephews and his 4-legged pal, Chick Bonita.

A graveside service will be held at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Serenity Hills in Hawesville.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 am until Noon at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel.
