Betty H. Williamson, 83, of Lewisport, went to be with the Lord on Friday July 6th at Heartland Villa Nursing Home. Betty was born on June 19, 1935 in Knottsville to the late Joe and Ida Gilmore Henning and was married to James Milton Williamson. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Lewisport and put her trust and faith in Jesus. She began her working career at the age of 16 at General Electric Plant in Owensboro and worked there until the plant was sold to MPD. She went to work at the Hancock County Middle School where she later shared fond memories of her time there. Upon retiring from the middle school, she worked for several families in the community and finished her working career working part time at the Lewisport Branch of Hancock Bank and Trust Company. She was preceded in death by her husband James Milton Williamson, a son Dennis M Williamson and five siblings Margie Keiser, Ida Henning, Ellen Pate, Louis Henning and Steve Henning.
She is survived by a daughter Pam (Ron) Hubbard; three sons Jimmy Williamson, Tony Williamson (Lorie Beliles) and Jeff (Lisha) Williamson; seven grandchildren Jason (Shanalyn) Hubbard, Jeremy (Jennifer) Williamson, Fallin Henry, Courtney Biddle (John Michael Adams), Tabitha (Brandon) Lucas, P. J. Williamson and Betty Jane Williamson; ten great grandchildren Daymond Williamson, Briseis Henry, Oliva (Nathan) Wilson, Elizabeth Hubbard, Evan Hubbard. Trevor Biddle, MacKenzie Biddle, John Maddox Adams, Asher Lucas, Selma Lucas and two great great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by nine siblings Bill (Lena) Henning, Charlie (Gloria) Henning, Wayne (Vickey) Henning, Mark (Donna) Henning, Bessie Martin, Susie (Leon) Williams, Jane (Gary) Vanover, Linda (John) Payne and Paula Robertson.
Service will be held at 11am Monday July 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Lewisport with Rev Arthur Morris officiating with burial following in Lewisport Cemetery. Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport and from 9:00 am until service time Monday at First Baptist Church in Lewisport.
