Aliene Martin Morris Simmons

Aliene Martin Morris Simmons, 85, of Lewisport, KY, passed away on January 17, 2026 at Heartland Villa.  She was born in Cloverport, Ky on January 3, 1941 to the late John and Beulah Martin.

Aliene was known for her strong work ethic and her love for animals especially her fur babies.  She enjoyed watching old tv shows and listening to gospel music.  Aliene was a pastor’s wife for many years.  She worked various jobs, including healthcare, factory work, school bus aid and school crossing guard.  Aliene babysat and enjoyed being surrogate grandma to her babies.

Aliene was preceded in death by her husbands, Denford Morris, Sr. and James Simmons; grandson, Aaron Newton.

Survivors include her children, Carletta (Gary) Newton, Julia (Dale) Howell, Jim Smith, Kevin Smith, Dennie (Cindy) Morris, Jr., Mark (Lia) Morris and Byron Morris; grandchildren, Shana (Sim) Roberts, Caleb Howell, Brad Smith, Jessie Morris, Olivia Morris, MacKenzee (Landon) Coleman, Jacob (Paige) Morris, Daniel Morris, Ben Macpike (Melissa) and Tara Petrov; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Ruby McCarthy; brother, Jim Martin.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with burial following in Lewisport Cemetery.  Aliene’s family will be greeting friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 am until 1 pm.
