Velma Dean Basham Harmon, 78, of Lewisport, gained her Heavenly wings on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Maceo, Ky on January 16, 1940 to the late James H. and Mae Logsdon Basham. Velma was a member of Lewisport Baptist Church and a housewife. She enjoyed spending time with her family, laughing and talking.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Earl Harmon; a daughter, Brenda (Joe, Jr.) Holland; a son, Steve (Brenda Sue) Harmon; 3 grandchildren, Joe (Ashley) Holland III, Nicole (Adam) Cameron and Daniel (Tarah) Harmon; 5 great grandchildren, Jordan Cameron, Hayden Cameron, Greyson Holland, Jace Holland and Bailey Harmon; 2 sisters, Margurett (Bud) Crandall and Joann (Joe) Hurley.
Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport in the Taylor Chapel with burial following at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 8 pm on Monday and 9 am until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Caner Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
