Simpson Lowery, 80, of Hawesville, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford.  He was born on October 26, 1936 in Walling, TN to the late William Logan and Louella Elizabeth Measles Lowery.  Simpson was a member of the Church of God, retired from Century Aluminum and a member of USWA Local # 9423.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting squirrels, rabbits and deer, farming and loved his grandbabies.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Snyder Lowery; siblings, Carson, Carl, Edna, Cordell, Dan and Barbara Lowery.

Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Ervin) Roberts; two sons, Dennis (Kathy) Lowery and Billy (Marsha) Lowery; 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Logan, Ben, Brandy, Preston, Emily, Abby and Chase; 5 great grandchildren, Landon, Hunter, Kyleigh, Samson and Ella; two sisters, Pauline Sims and Myrna Sue (Steven) Carter along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with burial following in Serenity Hills.  Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday at the funeral home.
