Mildred G. Riley, 84, of Lewisport, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Heartford House surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hawesville, Ky on June 3, 1934 to the late Charles Ambrose and Mary Ann Egan Gray. Mildred was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was retired from General Electric, Owensboro. She spent her life taking care of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her extended grandchildren, which is why everyone called her Granny. Mildred was preceded in death her husband, John Mack Riley; a son, Kelly Wayne Riley; siblings, George, Everett, Jim Tom, Frank, Robert, Marion, William Earl Gray, Rose Lawson, Martha Carpenter and Barbara Egenlauf.
Survivors include her children, Vickie Wathen, Steve (Sonja) Riley and Mark (Brenda) Riley; 8 grandchildren, John (Kelsi) Beaver, Gary (Sherri) Beaver, Jeremy Riley, Jesse (Tiffany) Riley, Wes (Nikki) Riley, Beth (Mike) Roberts, Shawn (Amanda) Smith and Tara (Bruno) Yearns; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and 2 more on the way; a sister Shirley Perkins along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many people that affectionally called her Granny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Columba Catholic Church, Lewisport with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Hawesville. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3 pm until 8 pm with Rosary being said at 4 pm and on Friday from 8 am until 9:30 am at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartford House, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
