Joseph Marvin “Mose” Payne, 82, of Hawesville, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 while under the care of Western Kentucky Hospice at the Heartford House. He was born in Daviess County on November 22, 1936 the son of Joseph Arthur and Mary D. Payne. Marvin was a farmer and enjoyed hunting. He was a founding member of the Hancock County Rescue Squad, proudly serving 28 years on the squad. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Payne and 2 brothers, William E. Payne and Robert M. “Bob” Payne.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Violet Ann Payne; his mother, Mary D. Payne; brothers, James Mark Payne, Frank Payne and Wayne Payne; sisters, Wanda Young, Mary Brandle, Becky Howard, Jody McManaway, Judy Mingus and Lesia Stallings along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Noon, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville. Private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday and from 9 am until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
