George "Rudy" Meserve Obituary

George Rudolph “Rudy” Meserve, 88, of Hawesville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Heartland Villa.  Rudy was born on March 17, 1930 in Hancock County to the late George Harvey and Eva Ellen Powers Meserve.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church, retired from the Kentucky State Highway Road Department in Hawesville and an Army veteran of the Korean War.  Rudy enjoyed wood carving, fishing and looking for Indian artifacts.  He was preceded in death by a grandson Dustin Hay, a sister Eva Jane Colbert, a brother Dub Meserve and a son in law Mike Philp.

Surviving are two daughters Lisa (John) Bybee and Sherry Philp; a brother Charles (Dorothy) Meserve; four grandchildren Lindsey (Matt) Lanham, Matt (Haylee) Hay, Brooke Hay and Michael (Kimmie) Philp; six great grandchildren Emma and Carson Lanham, Porter, Preslee and Parker Hay and Aiden Kleeman and nieces and nephews.

Services are at 1:00 pm Thursday September 27, 2018 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with Bro Brian Adkins officating.  Burial will be in Blackford Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rudy’s family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time Thursday.
