Florence Kirk Snyder passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Oakwood Health Campus, in Tell City, Indiana. She was born on May 25, 1923 to Mattie and Dean Kirk. They made Hawesville, Kentucky their home and she met and married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Snyder, who died on January 8, 2004, and raised two sons, Bob Kirk and Dennis Ray, who were the light of her life. She was a dedicated Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Everyone will remember Florence and Bob walking the streets of Hawesville everyday no matter the weather. They owned and operated the Snyder Mobile Home Park. She was a homemaker and graduated from Beechmont High School in 1940. She loved the time spent with her family and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend the countless activities they participated in. Florence and Bob were surrounded by sports and spent their spare time cheering on the kids. She was a lifelong member of Hawesville Baptist Church.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, and sister Mary (Ernest) Bureau. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons Dennis Ray and wife Sherry, and Robert Kirk and wife Saundra. Grandchildren Rhonda Nugent (Greg), Rebecca Madden (Joe), Jason Snyder (Deb), Daren Snyder (Polly). Great-grandchildren Hayley Nugent, Austin Nugent, Logan Boling, Gavin Boling, Penelope Snyder, Avery Snyder, and Boppa Godfrey.
A celebration of her life will be at 3:00 pm Saturday June 16, 2018 at Hawesville Baptist Church with pastor Barry Fields officiating. Burial will be in Serenity Hills. Florence’s family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time Saturday at Hawesville Baptist Church.
