Dorothy Jean Arnold Blinzinger, 88, of Hawesville passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Heartford House.  She was born on May 17, 1929 in Hawesville to the late Albert and Inez Ingram Gibbs.  Dorothy was a member of Hawesville Baptist Church and a nurse.  She cherished her time and memories made with her family.  Dorothy’s passion in life was her flower’s, she made numerous bouquets and delivered them to people in hospitals, nursing homes and to their homes.  Dorothy went to college later in her life and became an LPN, which she was very proud of, and worked for Dr. BP Smith for many years and volunteered with the American Red Cross.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur Arnold; son Norman Arnold; grandson, Austin Arnold; siblings, James  Gibbs, William Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs, Mary Miranda, Virginia Faye Gibbs and Velda Doris Gibbs.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, William Blinzinger; son, Dewane (Ladonna) Arnold; grandchildren, Amanda (Jonas) Billingsley and Adam (Rikki) Arnold; great grandchildren, Ivan Arnold, Baylie Billingsley, Isaiah Arnold, Briley Billingsley and Henley Arnold; step son; Bob (Joy) Blinzinger; siblings, Alta Mae Nichols, Linda Gibbs and Randall (Caroline) Gibbs along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with burial following in Memory Gardens, Hawesville.  Dorothy’s family will be greeting friends on Thursday from 4 pm until 8 pm and on Friday after 8 am at the funeral home.
