Bobby Lewis Brown, 75, of Hawesville, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Bobby was born January 18, 1943 to the late Charles Edward and Alberta “Nig” Powers Brown. He was a member of Cloverport United Methodist Church, but faithfully attended Hawesville Baptist Church for many years.
Bobby retired from the paper mill after 39 years of service. When he was not riding his John Deere mower taking care of the yard, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s various sporting events and activities. He also enjoyed watching UK basketball.
Bobby was a faithful, loving and dedicated husband, father, brother, papaw, great-papaw and friend. He never met a stranger and would always respond “better than I deserve” when asked how he was doing right to the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donnie Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beverly Kincaid Brown; his children, Stacy (Chuck) Bozarth, Darin (Stacy) Brown, Kyle (Cheryle) Brown and Shelly (Jeff) Gray; his grandchildren, Wes (Amanda) Bozarth, Courtney (Brad) Martin, Tristan (Emily) Bozarth, Kelsey Brown, Ashtyn Gray, Peyton Bozarth, Luke Brown, Macey Brown and Adison Brown and a great grandchild, Colt Martin. He is also survived by a brother Randy (Gerry) Brown and a sister Jeanne (Gary) Moad and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 am on December 17, 2018 at Hawesville Baptist Church with burial following in Serenity Hills. Bobby’s family will be greeting friends from 2 pm until 8 pm on Sunday and from 7 am until 10:30 am on Monday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville.
