Betty Jean Embry, 83, of Lewisport, formerly of Hawesville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday June 23, 2017 at Heartland Villa with her family by her side.  Betty was born on July 8, 1933 in Breckinridge County a daughter of the late Sherman and Laura Smith.  She was a lifetime member of Central Baptist Church, a housewife and retired from Parker Hannifin.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years John Glen Embry, a son Don Embry, a grandson Chad Embry, a great grandson Samuel Scott,  siblings Bill Smith, Ed Smith, Ronnie Smith, Catherine Gray, Frances Fulkerson, Decie Swink, Carolyn Beavin and Janice Jackson.

Betty is survived by her children Dale (Linda) Embry, Mike (Louanne) Embry, Steve Embry, Darlene (Ronnie) Parker, Sue (Lee) Blake, Sharon Embry, Mark Embry and daughter-in-law Diane Gaskill; 20 grandchildren Jeremy Scott, Josh Scott, Mindy Howard, April Embry, Donnie Embry, Dana Embry, Dorothy Embry, Chris Embry, Jeannie Embry, Stephanie Embry, Daniel Embry, Melanie Parker, Jill Parker, Julie Parker, Jason Bolin, Billy Bolin, Jeremy Conder, John Mark Embry, Brandy Gilliam and Adam Embry; 42 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters Judy (Luke) Nugent, Peggy Kocken, Vicki Parker, a brother—in-law Don Jackson and many many nieces, nephews, cousins and 1 very special cousin Sarah Taylor.

Services are at 11:00 am Monday June 26, 2017 in the Taylor Chapel at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport.  Burial will be in Serenity Hills.  Betty’s family will greet friends from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday and from 9:00 am until service time Monday at the Funeral Home.  Memorials can be made to Central Baptist Food Pantry.
