Ada Mae Young Gray

Ada Mae Young Gray, 91, of Hawesville, KY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 25, 2018. Ada was born on March 12, 1927 to the late Retes and Mary Jane Young. Ada had 7 children, 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 17 and more great-great-grandchildren on the way, and many step grandchildren.

Ada was a member of Patesville Baptist Church for over forty years. Ada liked to spend time with her family, sew, garden, and cook.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bro. Sam Gray, her mother Mary Jane Young, her father Retes Young, her brothers Albert, James, and Shirley Young, and her sisters Louise Dawson and Elouise King. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, John Gray, 94 of Hawesville, KY and two sisters Ida Stevens and Robbie Derrick of Lexington, KY. She is also survived by her children: Diana (Dayne) Newton, Carol Gray (late Sam Gray), Jane (Charlie) Jackson, Sandy (Donnie) Young, Carla (Jimmy) Payne, Judy (Gerald) Nugent, and Mark (Tracey) Gray, as well as her grandchildren: Kevin (Michelle) Newton, Cindy (Eugene) Whithworth, Timmy (Jamia) Newton, Neil (Kathy) Gray, Laura (Norman) Fuchs, Stevie Jackson, Johnny (Sally) Jackson, Billy (Natalie) Jackson, Russell (Peyton) Jackson, Glen (Becky) Young, Jeremy (Crystal) Young, Brad (Ivy) Young, Karrie (Steve) Raley, Cassandra (Jeff) Durbin, Karen (Steve) Robertson, Wes (Vanessa) Payne, Brock (Wendi) Nugent, Amy (Brian) Roberts, Matt (Whitney) Gray, and Austin (Tamara) Gray,  as well as several great-grand children and great-great grand children.

Ada will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew her. Our loss is Heaven’s gain and we can’t wait to see you again someday.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm and will be officiated by Bro. Steve Jackson at Patesville Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday October 28, 2018 and Monday 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM October 29, 2018. Our family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice and Oakwood Health Campus for their kindness during this difficult time.
