Michael C. Powers, 57, of Hawesville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday September 16, 2016 at his home.  He was born on May 13, 1959 in Owensboro to Edward and Eloise Lamar Powers.  Mike was a member of Hawesville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, was a former District 3 Hancock County Magistrate, appointed Hancock County PVA in 2013 and retired from Century Aluminum of Kentucky after 37 years.  He was preceded in death by his father Edward Powers, a sister Kathy Bolen and step father Bill Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years Cindy Newton Powers; two daughters Kristi (J D) Winkler and Jami (Chris) Jackson; four grandchildren Dalten Garrison, Jayla Jackson, Halli Winkler and Jaxon Winkler; siblings Dallas (Margaret) Powers and Linda (Roger) Young; his mother Eloise Powers Edwards; mother – father in law Roy and Linda Newton; sister – brother in laws Tammy (Jeff) Lewers, Johnny (Connie) Newton, Dee Dee (Kenny) Hylton and Dodie (Danny) Kirkendoll and several nieces and Nephews.

Services are at 10:00 am Monday September 19, 2016 at Hawesville Baptist Church Family Life Center.  Burial will be in Serenity Hills.  Mike’s family will greet friends from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday and from 8:00 am until service time Monday at Hawesville Baptist Church Family Life Center. The family request that all donations be made to the Hawesville Baptist Church Building Fund.
