Marie Chaffin Phillips, 90, of Hawesville, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with her family by her side.  She was born in Reynold’s Station on November 30, 1926 to the late Homer and Rosa Lee Boling Huff.  Marie was a lifetime member of Boling Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed working at the Help Office and Food Bank.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Cecil Chaffin; and husband of 21 years, Griffin Phillips; daughter Barbara Jackson, great-grandson Chad Jackson, Sister Tina French and brothers Bobby Joe Huff, Pratt Huff and Rexy Huff.

Survivors include daughters Peggy (Bobby) Jackson of Owensboro, June DeJarnette of Hawesville and Donna (Bob) Swope of Philpot; 10 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and 5 step- great-great grandchildren; and sisters Jean Baird and Phyllis (Dewight) Vaughn.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with burial following in Memory Gardens.  Marie’s family will be greeting friends on Wednesday from 3 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
