John M. “Hippie” Damin, 62, of Hawesville, passed away Saturday April 29, 2017 at his home after a lengthy Illness.  John was born on November 9, 1954 in Tell City, IN a son of the late James E. and Columbine Gilliland Damin.  He was a clerk in the Wholesale Business, a handyman and a veteran of the U S Army.  He was preceded in death by a son Jessie Damin.

Survivors include a daughter Holly Roby; three grandchildren; three sisters, Martha, Nancy and Darlena; four brothers, Dale, Richard, Jim and Wally along with several nieces and nephews.

John’s wishes were to be cremated.  A private family burial will be at a later date.
