Jeanette Brown Powers

Jeanette Brown Powers, 80, of Hawesville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at home with her family at her side.  Jeanette was born on February 10, 1938 in Hawesville to the late Ed and Evelyn Nugent Brown.  She was a member at Blackford Baptist Church and worked at Tell City Chair and GE.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and playing the piano and singing.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Powers, a son Terry Powers, a sister Jamie Payne and a granddaughter, Shanda McDaniel.

Survivors include four daughters Melissa G. Pogue (Wayne Keith), Rhonda McDaniel, Kimberly Powers Patterson (Ken) and Trisha Burden; four sisters Eva Payne, Dorothy Lamar, Artie Campbell and LaVonne Quinn; a brother J C Brown; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 2:00 pm Friday March 16, 2018 at Blackford Baptist Church with burial following in the Church Cemetery.  Jeanette’s family will greet friends from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm Friday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville.
