Harold Vaughn Jr.

August 10, 1938 ~ September 14, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Harold Vaughn, Jr., 79, of Owensboro, went into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 14, 2017.  He was born on August 10, 1938 to the late Harold and Eva Pate Vaughn.

Harold was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Harold retired from Rohm & Haas, where he was a maintenance supervisor.  He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Louisville.  He loved traveling, woodworking and UK basketball.  In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister Margie Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances Beavin Vaughn; children, Ramona (Amos) Strohmeyer, Terry (Sharon) Vaughn, Jenny (Mike) Byerly, Jackie (Tim) Marksberry and Harold Anthony (Patsy) Vaughn; grandchildren, Nicole and Renée Strohmeyer, Jason (Kristin) and Justin Vaughn, Chelsea (Kyle) Hornby and Elicia Byerly, Kayla (Shea) Weaver and Justin and Tyler Marksberry and Rebecca (Christian) Lyons and  Harold Andrew, Lauren and Emily Vaughn; great grandchildren, Riley and Maddie Vaughn and Alyssa and Easten Hornby; a brother, Tommy (Charlene) Vaughn along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved friends and neighbors.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am CDT on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Mt. Eden Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville on Monday from 3 pm until 8 pm CDT and on Tuesday after 9 am CDT at Mt. Eden Baptist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Eden Baptist Church Building Fund, 5150 St. Rt. 2181 Hawesville, KY 42348.
