Earl Wayne "Cookie" CookDecember 13, 1943 ~ April 1, 2017 (age 73)
Earl Wayne “Cookie” Cook, 73, of Hawesville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday April 1, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, with his family at his side. Wayne was born on December 13, 1943 in Owensboro, KY the son of the late Archie and Martha Harper Cook. He was a Christian and member of Dukes Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was a Church Elder and worked with the youth of the church. Wayne was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Fan, loved bowling, was retired from Willamette and served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Patricia Christian Cook; a daughter Lisa Cox (Jeremy); three sons Jeffery Cook, Aaron Cook (Dana) and Phillip Cook; six grandchildren Reggie (Sarah), Hannah (Evan), Brandon, Natalee, Alyson and Chase; five step grandchildren Amy, Taylor, Elizabeth, Alex and Jaclyn; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three sisters Linda Miller (Paul), Starrlene Pearl (Don) and Marva Wilson; two brothers Bobby Cook (Deanie) and Sherman Cook (Cheryl) and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 11:00 am, Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport. Burial will be in Lewisport Cemetery. Wayne’s family will be greeting friends from 2:00 until 8:00 pm Monday and from 9:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Wayne to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
