Doris Rae Woosley Roberts, 84, of Owensboro passed away on November 19, 2016 at Hermitage Care and Rehab Center. She had lived at Roosevelt House for the last 5 years and previously in Livermore & Maceo. She was born in McLean County on February 26, 1932 to the late Jake and Edith Wilson Woosley. She enjoyed making porcelain dolls and teaching people how to make them and drove a school bus in Maceo & Thurston. Doris was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Owen Ray Roberts and a brother Lavern Woosley.

Survivors include her two daughters Charlotte (Carl) Snyder and Lavon Roberts; a son, Michael (Janice) Roberts; grandchildren Kiley (Teresa) Snyder, Tonia (Tim) Love and Wesley Roberts; two great granddaughters Taylor & Taya Love;  sister-in-laws Ann Woosley, Pauline Roberts and Frances Roberts; two half brothers, Albert & Ernie Woosley. A foster daughter Edna (Jim) and children along with many nieces, nephews and cousins

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in the Taylor Chapel of Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport with burial following in Lewisport Cemetery.  Doris’ family will be greeting friends on Monday from 4 pm until 8 pm and Tuesday from 10 am until 2 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ memory to Hermitage Care and Rehab Center for Christmas presents for the residents.
