Delores Jean Gray Hanks (Jeanie), 79, of Hawesville went to be with her Lord and savior on August 8, 2017 at her home with her family at her side.  Jeanie was born in Hancock County on July 11, 1938 the daughter of the late Doris and Pauline Wheatley Gray.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a housewife and her life revolved around her whole family.  She was known to all as “Granny”.   Jeanie enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen R. Hanks Brown, three sons Joseph R. Hanks, Kenneth Ray Hanks, Jr and Kevin “Hanky” Hanks and two brothers Russell Herman Gray and Robert N. Gray.

Surviving her is her husband of 62 years Kenneth Ray “Bo” Hanks, Sr.; a daughter Karen (Dale) Severs; four brothers Harold Gray, Clayton (Gloria) Gray, Carl Gray (Murty Hagan) and Donnie (Judy) Gray; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 12, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cloverport.  Jeanie’s family will be greeting friends from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at Gibson and son Funeral Home in Hawesville, prayer service at 5 p.m. and from 9:00 am until service time Saturday at the church.  The family request that donations be made to Calvary Cemetery.
