Arthur Bolen, Jr., 88, of Lewisport, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Lewisport, KY on October 14, 1928 to the late Arthur and Annie Brown Bolen, Sr.  Arthur was retired from National Southwire Aluminum.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in World War II, receiving the WWII victory medal and the Army Occupational Medal of Japan.  Arthur was a tobacco farmer and butchered hogs, making some of the best sausage in the area.  He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Allie Roberts and his siblings.

Survivors include his sons, Scotty Bolen and Ricky (Chris) Bolen; grandchildren, Tasha (Justin) Cox, Dustin Bolen, Ashley (Brent) Estes, Angel (Travis) Cavazos, A.J. (Audra) Bolen, Tyler Brandle, Bryan Jackley and Lauren Jackley; great grandchildren, Rylee, Cayden, Quaid, Carley, Callie and Anderson along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arthur’s wishes were to be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.  Online condolences may be made at www.gibsonandsonfh.com.
